Here are just a few organizations that our school has been involved in or supported, as well as some awards we have earned.

Community Involvement

Ronald McDonald House

The Ronald McDonald House of Jacksonville offers temporary lodging and support services to families of children being treated in local medical facilities. Families from near and far stay with us through the ups and downs of their children's treatments.

City Rescue Mission

City Rescue Mission is a nonprofit organization that has provided help to the homeless and needy in Jacksonville and Northeast Florida since 1946. CRM provides emergency and recovery services to people in need.

Awards

Five Star School Award

The Five Star School Award was created by the Commissioner's Community Involvement Council and is presented annually to those schools that have shown evidence of exemplary community involvement. In order to earn Five Star school recognition, a school must show documentation that it has achieved 100% of the established criteria in the categories of: Business partnerships, Family Involvement, Volunteerism, Student Community Service, and School Advisory Councils.

Golden School Award

The Golden School Award is given annually to recognize public schools with exemplary volunteer programs. Hours donated in all forms of volunteering (i.e., mentors, tutors, advisors, and advocates) are to be included. The award is presented to the schools that meet the following criteria: provides faculty training/orientation on volunteerism, designates a school volunteer coordinator to provide leadership for the school volunteer program, fulfills a total number of hours in volunteer service that equals twice the number of students enrolled in the school.
